Quality Pools 38 Years And Counting

Quality Pools and Spas is a lot more than the name implies. Owners Mike and Sandra Verkaik sell and install in-ground, on-ground and above-ground pools.
And the Verkaiks also sell spas, pool accessories and almost anything else you would desire for your own backyard. And they’ve been doing it for almost 40 years. Mike Verkaik started Quality Pools in Chatham in 1969, and over the years has installed thousands of pools. Quality Pools are now into their third generation.
Mike’s reputation, and that of Quality Pools’, is such that the company has many repeat customers – many of whom are turning to Quality Pools for their second or third pool installation. Mike is on-site for all installations.
They turn to Quality Pools because of the company’s extraordinary experience and expertise. Quality Pools has six fully trained and professional installers, and three of those installers have been with the company for almost a decade.
Over the years, Mike and Sandra have seen many changes in the industry, including the ability to build and install pools to a customer’s specific desires, and the introduction of new technologies, including saltwater pools.
Mike says almost all of the pools now installed by Quality Pools feature saltwater technology. He says the benefits are numerous. The water is softer and there’s less bleaching. As well, there’s no chlorine odour, saltwater contains inherent healing properties, and the water isn’t as hard on a swimmer’s eyes or their hair.
“People are looking for saltwater pools, but they’re also looking for safety covers, they’re looking for stairs, they’re looking for lights.”

“It’s a lot different from what it was 38 years ago when I started. But while the customer’s desire for improvements and enhancements has grown, so has our ability to accommodate those desires.”

Quality Pools also installs saunas and spas. As with the company’s pools, the spas are Canadian-made and come with a warranty from the manufacturer, as well as a Quality Pool warranty.
“We deal with Pacific Spas”, says Sandra, “and they have the best warranty in the industry.”
We do re-vamps on all pools Kafko, Foxxx, Pondex, etc. Parts are available for ALL pools. You’ll be amazed how they look like new when we’re through.
Quality Pools and Spas is located at 425 Park Ave. West, and features a beautiful showroom that opened five years ago.
